Pharmasyntez says to produce Sputnik V vaccine in Q1 2021
MOSCOW, Nov 6 (PRIME) -- Russian pharmaceutical company Pharmasyntez plans to start industrial production of Sputnik V vaccine for against the coronavirus in January–March 2021, Pharmasyntez-Nord CEO Mikhail Kvasnikov said on Friday, as cited in a statement of the company.
"We are sure of and doing everything we can to start production of the vaccine on an industrial scale from the first quarter of next year," Kvasnikov said.
The Russian Healthcare Ministry registered the world’s first coronavirus vaccine on August 11. At first, the Gamaleya institute and pharmaceutical company Binnopharm were to produce it, and R-Pharm and Generium were to join them soon.
Multi-industry holding Sistema said that Binnopharm’s capacities allow it to produce 1.5 million doses of the vaccine per year, and that it planned to start mass production until the end of 2020.
